I graduated from Mayo Medical School in 1992. After years of battling a chronic illness of my own, I was acutely aware of the severe lack of wellness training and nutrition knowledge provided by the typical medical education in the United States. Our medical system is based on treating disease, not promoting wellness.
That’s why I decided to broaden my own education. In 2006, I went back to graduate school. I attended the Center for Spirituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota and, in 2008, I received a Graduate Certificate in Complementary Therapies and Healing Practices-Health Coaching Track. At the same time as I pursued my degree in Health Coaching, I attended the University of Bridgeport and received my Masters of Science in Human Nutrition.
I am a licensed physician and a licensed nutritionist in the state of Minnesota. I became a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist in July 2010.
I started my private practice as a Physician Nutrition Specialist in 2008. I am gratified to have a growing, thriving practice with a wide, variety of clients with chronic health conditions seeking wellness.
